Nathan lost a friend this week. My heart aches for my friend that lost her son. I think we are all in shock. Nathan followed me all around the house tonight talking non-stop about this loss. His coach brought them in tonight to talk about it, and Nathan told me EVERY word that was said. Nathan reminisced of playing basketball together when they were younger, but how they always talked to each other about how much better soccer was. Loss is hard, especially when they are young. I’m sad for Nathan. I’m sad for GianLuc’s sweet parents. I’m just sad!
I’m sure going to miss seeing GianLuc’s big smile around the soccer field. What a beautiful kid inside and out!

Bless your hearts, his family and all those who knew him. I'm so sorry for your loss~ My prayers are with you!
That is a hard thing for your son to go through. Our son went through something similar this summer (as far as loosing a friend/boy his age)--a boy in their scout troop got struck by lightning at camp and didn't make it. It was hard for all the boys. Our prayers are with Luca's family. I hope you don't mind me asking--I read part of his story--it never said what happened, but I wanted to understand his parent's comment: "Please take good care of all your children and loved ones.
Watch closely what they look at on the internet and things they talk about with friends. We feel we did not know enough and this lack of knowledge made us pay a high
price !!"
Blessings sent your way and thank you!
ps...here is my email if you wouldn't mind sharing with me about the comment they made.

thanks so much!
Oh Shauna, I'm so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for those hurt by this.
I'm so sorry to read this. It is heartbreaking. I, too, wonder what happened.
Shauna, I'm so sorry! That IS hard! I also wondered what happened exactly. I read all the posts but it didn't say. Lots of hugs for Nathan!
I'm sorry, our sweet Nathan, for your loss & for all those who share in this sadness. We too enjoyed seeing that little ball of fire on the soccer field when we came to visit.
Someday we may understand why these things happen.
Shauna, like others, I too read the family's blog posts...would you mind telling us what happened so we can all protect our children a little bit more??
I know this has been a while and all your questions might have been answered already but I just now found out about Shauna's blog and read her post from the time our son died.
Please read details about him and his story on Lucastrong.com
This is a website we just established and it is up and running with a few more items to be added, but mostly it is done and if you would like to look at it and get all kinds of information on how to protect your children we would be very glad and thankful for your support in spreading the word !!
Thanks
