Ashley’s Birthday

Ashley is very opinionated and was determined to have a fashion like Project Runway party.  I kept trying to change her mind because I had no idea how to do a party like what she wanted.  However, I couldn’t convince her and we had an extravaganza!

We started out by playing Pictionary with clothing terms until everyone arrived.  Then I gave them each a sketchbook and we had a little contest to see who could design the best dress.  Of course we had to have fancy jewel pens to draw with.

Then we divided into groups of three with a mom or helper for each group.  I gave them each a box that had all they needed to create a masterpiece.  I had bought old Prom dresses from the Arc.  The boxes had glittery gold, silver or red duct tape, along with tin foil and plastic tablecloths.

Each group was sent to a different part of the house so that they couldn’t steal each other’s ideas.

After a while I gathered everyone to the kitchen for a fancy little lunch.  We had croissant  sandwiches, raspberries, chips, veggie tray, and juice.

I then gave them a few more minutes to finish up their designer gowns.  Then we had a fashion show.  I was amazed at what they came with!  I wish that I had pictures of the before.  I let them cut and tape away on the dresses.

I loved the gold boots that Ashley’s team came up with.  My favorite however was the blue dress.  It started out as a very long sleeveless dress.  They hemmed and lined it with silver tape, and then made a cute cover with the length of the dress.  It was cute!

The girls then each played a little game to chose fancy little prom pursed that I had picked up from the Arc as well.  They were each so unique and fancy.  We used them as the goody bags to put in gum, their sketch books, pen, and ring pop.

We ended the night with our family at Red Robin.  Ash was all smiles when they came to sing to us.

When we got home the big girls wanted to make one last creation on her with the extra black table cloth.  I was quite impressed!

Ashley LOVES fashion.  She has a notebook FILLED with drawings of outfits that she has drawn.  Her favorite gifts were the bling necklace from Chessa, and then fancy cheetah jacket along with the shiny sweatshirt from me.

Ashley has the kindest heart and is ALWAYS so quick with compliments and expressions of love.  She is a dancer and actress.  We so enjoy watching her perform with her poses and stage smile.  She is also an incredible singer.  Many teachers and friends of Ashley’s constantly tell me that she can sing!

We so love you Ash!  SOOOO grateful to have you in our family!

Jerrica’s Birthday

Oh my goodness!  I can’t believe my little baby is SEVEN!

We usually do breakfast in bed, but Jerrica wanted breakfast on the couch with cartoons turned on.  Ashley always makes the tray look fancy with napkins and flowers, however for Jerrica she put the little pumpkin on with the black napkin since she is our October birthday.

Jerrica loves our pet cat and insisted on a cat cake this year.

Lunch request was canned Chicken Noodle Soup, “please don’t make your kind mom”

    We loaded all of our bikes up and did a family bike ride per Jerrica’s request.  She was lucky enough to sit in the middle van seat that we couldn’t get out.           

Absolutely beautiful day!  We ended up doing a two hour bike ride.  I was over the moon that ALL of the family was there doing the ride!

We took a few cake pictures before she started getting photo bombed.

She got a lot of fun presents.  The Lego camper and car, game of Life with the credit cards, cute teapot from Grandma Charla, books, gum, a new American Girl doll bed with bedding that I had made, and a little dresser for her doll.  I know I’m forgetting some, but can’t remember the others right now.

We ended up going out to eat after the boys Priesthood session on Saturday night.  Such a perfect day with all of her requests.

Jerrica LOVES to read.  She downs chapter books daily.  I love listening to her read to her doll Emily at night.  Her expression and tone are priceless.  She also loves to do crafts, play the piano, and any other sport that her siblings are playing.  She is a VERY sweet girl!

12 on the 12th Detective Style

My Rebecca Rae celebrated her 12th birthday on the 12th!  I will let the pictures explain the day ….

   

Rebecca loves Stephanie Jump.  She offered to do a gel manicure for her on her birthday.

We then went shopping with Kaylee and out to lunch.  For her birthday dinner she chose Olive Garden.

 

We did a few birthday pictures that afternoon ….

                  

The next weekend we had a friend mystery party.  We gave them these mini file folder invitations.

We had caution tape everywhere and a chocolate “dead body” cake.

 

The girls got sunglasses, badges with their pictures, mustache, and then a goody bag that had a little detective kit in it.  They also were given little spiral notebooks to decorate and use for the games.

 

Each of the members of our family were the suspects.  We had Kaylee as the Clumsy Cook, Jerrica as the Geeky Gamer, Nathan as the Sassy Soccer player, Jacob as the Pathetic Painter, and Ashley as the Bubblegum Ballerina.  Each had a game and clue in their room.  Kaylee did the memory game where you have one minute to memorize the objects and then write them down.

 

Nathan was outside with his soccer ball and did a fingerprint thing with them.  It was like pulling teeth to get the boys to do this, but then watching them with the girls I thought they actually didn’t mind.  Jacob was in the loft and did a sketch artist game.  He described a mug shot to the girls and they had to draw what he was describing.  They laid all of their notebooks in front of him afterwards and he picked the picture closest to his as the winner of the prize.  Ashley had a CD of noises.  They had to identify each one and and the one that identified the most won that prize.  She had 30 random noises that Stephen helped burn to a disc off of the internet.  Jerrica did a secret code game with the girls at her station. 

 

Super fun night with all these cute girls!!!
