Yellowstone Part One

Our family LOVES Yellowstone!  The topography is so diverse and gorgeous!  It helps that we love to hike and to be out in nature.

I found out from a friend that Lars Leber was going to be there the same time as we were.  He is an incredible photographer that lives here in the Springs.  I loved seeing his pictures from the same weekend that we were there.  The same wildflowers in bloom and skies, BUT he is obviously on a different level than my pictures…

There were SO many rainbows in the falls and skies, I just can’t capture those like he can.  Anyway, here are some of my pictures from our time there.

Yes, Lar’s is an incredible photographer, but he doesn’t have incredible people in his photos like I do!

You would see pure white crusty, bubbling pools and then huge cliffs that were made of jagged rock.

Beautiful pools of water, steam that was hot, and colors everywhere!

Absolutely loved the hikes talking with everyone.  Nathan tried to convince us that all of Yellowstone was a scam.  He said mad scientists were bubbling up the pools and filling them with dye just to attract visitors to take their money.  He was so detailed in his thinking that the little girls actually started believing!

A favorite part was the momma bear and cubs.  She had a bison for the cubs to eat on.  Then she used her giant claws to rake up grass to cover the bison to come back to.  After she had him covered they scampered down to the lake.  It was amazing to see close up!

The bison are so enormous!  The one walked past us in the other lane of traffic just like it was a car.  The girls went crazy with their phones taking pictures as it sauntered by their windows.

That’s the first bit of pictures!
