Garlic Gardening

I LOVE to garden and have been sad getting my garden beds ready for the Winter.

I DO love the fact that I can still plant something NOW.

Garlic

GARLIC,

Because it is a bulb like tulips and daffodils, you plant it in the Fall and then harvest it in the Spring.  I cook with garlic ALL the time so it's a must to plant.

There are many types of garlic.  I like the "Spanish Roja" garlic.

Jerrica helped me break apart each of the little bulbs and plant them.  We had fun digging in the dirt together.  Anyway, try garlic gardening if you haven't!

Halloween Party Invites

We are gearing up for a little Halloween party for the older girls friends.

Party

We made little Reeses' monster eye invitations.  You can see instructions for the eyes HERE.

I'm trying to convince Stephen to let the boys invite friends over during the weekend to help create a haunted house area in the basement.  It's the mess that haunted houses make AND the controlling of a bunch of busy boys with Halloween stuff that is taking the convincing.

95 to 45

Just got back from a little trip

AZ4

The weather was 95 and now here I am back in Colorado with temperatures around 45!!!  Why is it I live in Colorado again?

Nathan was asked to guest play on a team above his in a tournament down in Phoenix.  We were excited since we have a lot of family down there.  We were able to see Stephen's sisters - Aunt Lael, Aunt Racquel and her family.  We also went and visited Grandma Coley, Aunt Sherry and then stayed a night with Uncle Ben and Aunt Clara's family.  Everyone was too good to us!

Aunt Lael took us for a hike around Lake Saguaro.  We enjoyed the desert vegetation.  She also let the kids loose with her bag of quarters at Outdoor World's shooting gallery.  Thank you Lael!!!

The kids were swimming every chance they could.  One afternoon they practiced posed canon ball jumps.

Nathan's team didn't do very well, but he sooo enjoyed playing soccer as usual.  They thought that they would have an altitude advantage only to find out that the teams down in Arizona and from New Mexico have a "heat tolerance" advantage.  I was very proud of Nathan though.  He was awesome!

I also did a quick photo shoot of two cute sisters, Racquel's girls.  They really are cute with each other.

My friend Kim went down as well to see her mom.  She kept me laughing until my cheeks hurt.  She is just so funny!  ANYWAY, a big thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable trip!

Cut Out Cookie Day

Grandma was here last week.  We enlisted her to help us with Halloween cut out cookies.  It was fun going through pictures tonight and seeing Jerrica's chubby little fingers eating the dough and then my mom's hands that have worked long and hard over the years.

Horses

I wanted to make cute stick horses for the little girls for Christmas.  My sister, Alesha has a cute and easy pattern.  Her kids have overly loved the ones that she made them years ago.  SOOO I called her a few weeks ago to have her send me the pattern.  Something even better happened ..... she MADE them for my little girls for their birthdays!

They have the little girls' initials branded on their necks and reins to tie them up...

She also made EIGHT of the cutest carrots.  They are felt with plastic greenery tied in.  And you know that EVERY horse has to take a break from riding and eat a little.  We even found a little basket of apples while we were out shopping with Grandma to add to our little horse playing.

And as you can see its the BIG girls that are playing with the stick horses, OR maybe it's Maude March....

Since we are on Fall break, we did go see this today with grandma and grandpa...

I think after seeing this movie, we are EVEN more in love with the stick horses!

Anyway, THANK YOU Aunt Alesha!  You are so creative!!!

I think that I'm going to ask you for MORE patterns ...

You Get This...

You take a pair of these pruners...

In the hands of the littlest sister AND you get this...

We are very grateful that it wasn't severed AND that there is such a thing as medical super glue to seal it back shut.

Pumpkin Patch Post

We LOVE Anderson Farms, especially with friends.  Thanks for coming Angie and Elaine, you made my kids' day (mine too)!

It really was such a beautiful Fall day!

Anderson Farms have a MASSIVE corn maze.  Jacob, Andrew, Nathan and Zack went running through it before I could get them in the picture with the rest of the kids.  Thanks to Zack they managed to find all the punch posts.  They even solved the Farm CSI maze.

As we were walking thru the maze Ashley said, "This corn is disgusting!"  I asked why she thought that, to which she replied, "It all has yucky hair coming out of the top of it!"
