Elitch’s

Thanks to all my friends and family that voted for my photo, out family WON tickets to go to Elitch’s.  The Mumma’s went with us.  BUT we don’t have a single picture of us all together.  UGHHH…  Stephen and Lance took the older ones on the roller coasters and Kim and I took the little girls on the not so scarey rides. 

I LOVE Kim’s personality!  She is always making me laugh and this day was no exception.  I felt like I had my own private comedian the entire day.  She was our photographer for this first photo.

 

Can you tell which ride I was on most of the day?  Little Miss Jerrica would throw MAJOR fits every time we would try and get her to go and do another ride.  She LOVED the carousel.  In fact, our family rode it three more times on our way out of the park! 

Ashley loved the bumper cars.  You could hear her wild laugh every time she would crash into someone.  Kaylee loved the white rollercoaster.  Nathan loved the water rides.  Jacob loved the mind eraser.  And Miss Rebecca said that she just loved ALL the rides! 

What a fun day with the Mumma’s!!!

Saint Angie

Stephen and I celebrated our 13th Wedding Anniversary this week, (well started to, we have a fun trip coming up). Anyway, Ms. Angie volunteered to watch ALL of our kids overnight so that we could have a little getaway.

I was like, yeah, yeah, whatever, I’m not going to torture and lose a friend by having her watch ALL SIX of my kids. She calls me up to finalize her plans and I was trying to tell her, not to worry about it but thanks anyway. The problem is you just can’t tell Angie “No”! She proceeded to tell me how she bought all this food, stuff for a craft project and then started to tell me where she was going to sleep everyone. I just couldn’t tell her no anymore and instead started getting excited to have a night without kids.

I still can’t believe I let her do that. She should be called Saint Angie from now on!

My kids had a total BLAST! Ashley was in heaven with dress up, the boys had the Wii and light saber wars. Angie stayed up late with the older girls and made these darling fairies out of flower petals.

And Stephen and I, well we had a wonderful night!

Becca’s Birthday

My sweet little Rebecca turned SEVEN today.

She LOVES the Fancy Nancy girl from the series and always complains that we didn’t name her Nancy. I always tell her that she is our “Ravishing Rebecca”.

She LOVES to be fancy with fingernails painted, jewelry, lipstick (whenever Grandma Brenda is here with her RED lipstick), and LOVES dresses. I let her pick out a dress for her birthday the other night. I highly encouraged a different dress, but she wouldn’t have it! She LOVED the puff sleeves on this one (Pollyanna loved puff sleeves in the book she just read) plus the colors on this one mom are more bright and happy. Uh… yeah they are that’s why we should buy the more plain one. But I kept my mouth shut and let her get this one since it is HER birthday.

Besides being fancy, Rebecca also enjoys playing soccer, playing the piano, playing Polly Pockets, drawing, doing projects, and READING. This summer she would read for HOURS each day. She just loves books, loves the characters and loves funny dialogues.

She also love photo shoots, and you know me … I love them too! We went out back today and did this little mini shoot.

For her birthday, she had breakfast in bed. Then I took her on a date this afternoon and we went to a “Fancy” salon to have “Manicures”. She chose this bright gold glitter polish, maybe you can see it in the pictures. When we got home and she was showing her brothers and sisters, the boys said, “Oh, you just went to get your nails painted” She quickly corrected them that “NO, we had MANICURES!”

Before her Ravishing Rebecca name, she wanted to be called, Sparkle Diamond Rainbow (Remember that Kristy?). So in honor of her past name we made a rainbow cake. Then the last picture is our tradition, the presents that she got with the number of fingers that she IS!!!

Playdough

So I was showing a couple of the kids my blog with the sculpture posts and they quickly pointed out that I didn’t have their masterpieces from Family Home Evening. Soooo here are a couple of pics that I took that night.

Can I just say how my kids have enjoyed these pumpkin pieces that I picked up at Wal-Mart’s after Halloween sale last year. There are a ton of different pieces and they make such interesting creatures. Also, here is the homemade playdough recipe for Kristy who has asked and asked and asked, and now I am delivering!

The Swetsville Zoo

Today was a sculpture day.  We were supposed to meet a friend and her kids up there, BUT it didn’t work out.  I thought about not going, BUT I had been wanting to go here and had it on our “Summer To Do” list.  So off we went by ourselves. 

Let me back up first and add that my amazing friend, Trenya, had told me about these two places.  She knows so many fun places!

A man by the name of Bill Swets has made hundreds of sculptures with car parts and all kinds of other junk.  This is his “zoo”.  It was amazing!  I kept wishing that my dad was there with us.  He would LOVE this place.  BUT since he wasn’t there with us, I took a ton of pictures for him.  So here you go dad…

We were so sad to leave after seeing all of his crazy talent.  My kids were quite eager to go home and start welding their own masterpiece.  However, I had another sculpture garden to take them to, with a different kind of talent, that was near by!
