Grandpa came to Visit

Grandpa Thompson flew in for Jacob’s Eagle court of honor.  We love Grandpa!  Jerrica enjoyed curled up reading with him.  The other kids had fun playing games and listening to his stories.

Weekend Trip

We just got back from a weekend trip to Arizona.  The trip was filled with family on both sides.  One highlight was being able to take the kids to the Gilbert Temple open house TWICE.  We went with Stephen’s side and then my side that evening.  It is gorgeous!  I took this picture as we were driving up to it Friday evening.

The Gilbert temple is HUGE and such a beautiful temple.  I told my sister Kristy that with all of the kids we have between the two of us, one of them I’m sure will be back to marry there someday.  All of the kids chimed in that they were going to be the “0ne”.

I will be back to posting here soon.  I have a couple of really big projects that I need to finish by the end of the month.  I am still here and all is well.  Thanks for all the sweet emails and messages!

Ashley helping others

One morning Ashley was freaking out at Jerrica for not carrying down “Ashley’s” dirty clothes to sort in the laundry room.  I was like, “Ashley they are YOUR clothes”.  She then informed all of us that she was just trying to help Jerrica do a good deed for the day.

Rae Rae’s Book Club

Rebecca had a book club today.  It was a murder mystery set at sea.  SO of course we had to do a treat with a little boat on a Jello sea.  Doesn’t every sailor need an orange to keep the scurvy away?!?!

Boat Treat

Rebecca said that the girls loved them.  We found the idea after searching google images for boat treat.  :)

Jerrica is in Basketball

Jerrica has been begging us to sign her up for a sport.  She has also let us know that she wants ALL of the family to come and watch her games.  We signed her up for Y basketball.

As I was driving her down to the first practice she asked me if they all get to pick a team name.  (She has all of these older siblings and knows the drill).  I assured her that they probably would pick a name.  She then told me that she wanted to be the “butterflies”.

Insert problem- when we show up I notice there are NINE boys and then Jerrica.  I immediately talk to the coach to see if I signed her up in the coed division.  I knew that I put her up a year with the first graders but didn’t remember there being a gender differentiation of teams.   He assured me that she was on that right team.  They were a coed team but very few girls were on the teams.

Needless to say, when she suggested “butterflies” for the team name she was out voted.  Her team is the “mountain lions”.

Just loving her form on her shots!  AND I love the little expression in the last photo as she waits to see if it’s going to roll in.JerraJerrac

She rocked her last game with two baskets and lots of rebounds.  I think she has learned that those that rebound, then get to dribble and shoot the ball.  So excited to have a little basketball girl!

It’s Over

Tonight was Kaylee’s last 7th grade basketball game.  It makes me SO sad that it is over!  Absolutely loved watching her and her team play together.  They dominated their league.  She is really small out there on the court but you don’t really notice because she plays so tough.

LOVE this girl of mine for SO many reasons!

Sharpie Flop

All over Pinterest and different friends had told me about baking mugs or plates in the oven with Sharpie and instant self designed dishes.  SO we decided to try it and it was a HUGE FLOP!

I made all of the kids do it with us so that they would have their own personalized mugs.  Little did I know that we needed the Sharpie paint marker.  SO shortly after all the drawing and creating, and then baking, it all washed off with a little soap and water.

The mugs looked cool before they all got washed off!

My favorite of the day was the little line that Jerrica wrote on hers.  We all kept smiling at each other at what she had came up with, “hot Sweetie”.

Sorry kids!

My Dad

Nath and Dad Papa Papa2

My kids LOVE my dad!  Jerrica is always climbing all over him trying to get all of his attention.  Nathan and my dad are constantly teasing each other.  One night they escaped all of the chaos below and were up watching a movie together in Nathan’s room.  My children are so lucky to have living grandparents that are such incredible examples in their lives.  Love you DAD!

Scarves

Over the holidays, these two learned how to make ruffle scarves, and boy did they whip out the scarves!  Rebecca made them for her school teacher, grandma, herself, a cousin….  She was quite the little factory!

Bronco Day

The Bronco’s made it to the Super Bowl and so all of the Colorado schools had a Bronco day where the kids could show their support.  That is all I’m going to talk about in regards about the Super Bowl.
